Our approach to collective worship

Every day begins with prayers based on one of the worldwide Church’s readings.  These usually take place in the tutor group and are usually led by students.  Most weeks, there is a whole school assembly that is joined online by each tutor group and most weeks, students will have a year group assembly in one of our large spaces.

At the heart of our week is the celebration of Mass in our Oasis Room (chapel), which is always open to all but which has representatives from each house in turn especially invited to them.  We are grateful to the clergy of St Edmund’s church for their service to the school in celebrating these Masses.

Once a year, each year group celebrates Mass together in St Edmund’s Church.

We mark special feast days throughout the year, especially the feast days that are special to the LSU Sisters with a range of activities, including extended whole school assemblies.

Once a year, each year group has a retreat day, called a reflection day.  Often offsite, this is an opportunity to go deeper into big questions about life and how we live our lives in today’s world.
