16th December 2022
As we reach the end of another successful term I would like to thank you for your continued support of the school. I would also like to congratulate your daughters and sons on how well they have approached both their studies and their commitment to their development of themselves beyond the classroom. We have been really impressed by how well they have embraced our new SAIL programme by, for example, taking the opportunity to get involved in co-curricular clubs, nurturing their care for creation, and developing their leadership skills. They have been recording all the ways they are developing themselves within our SAIL programme in their logbooks. Do ask them how they are getting on with this important aspect of their personal development education.
The final weeks of the autumn term are always busy and for the first time in a number of years we have been doing it without any COVID restrictions in the school. It is amazing to think that this time last year we were all wearing face coverings, testing twice a week with LFD or saliva tests, self-isolating for up to 10 days and being a part of the national rollout of COVID vaccinations. We have had a wonderful Christmas Concert on Monday, Carols in the Quad at lunchtime on Thursday, a Home Clothes today with plenty of Christmas jumpers as well as our end of term whole-school liturgy and year group celebrations. We are definitely feeling like Christmas is on its way!
There are lots of events taking place next term. Some of the key ones to get in the diary now are:
All year groups events
Year group specific events:
Please see the attached leaflet with local courses for different aspects of parenting offered by the city and their partners.
Winter Fun Day
Please see the attached information about a family fun day on Monday 19 December at Itchen College.
Health and Wellbeing Directory
There are lots of resources, organisations, charities and council-run teams to support families. It can sometimes be difficult to locate what help is out there. This directory from Southampton City Council is helpful in finding support for families: https://sid.southampton.gov.uk/kb5/southampton/directory/results.page?familychannel=3
Careers Fair 2023
We are really excited to be holding our Careers fair on Tuesday 31st January from 5-7pm and all years and parents are welcome to attend the event. There will be a range of employers and further education providers. If you are an employer and would like to attend the event and to share your experiences and career pathways with students, then please get in touch with myself Mrs Gough at: Julie.firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a great Christmas break.

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, eSchools) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website or service you are using (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website or service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.
We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Services to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” cookies. Other cookies enable us and the third parties we work with to track and target the interests of visitors to our Services, and we refer to these as “advertising” or “analytical” cookies. For example, the embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos, as added by individual schools, will require “advertising” cookies to be enabled in order to successfully play them. Schools that, for example, opt to track visitor data using Google Analytics will require “analytical” cookies to be enabled in order to do so. These third party cookies are used to tailor content and information that we may send or display to you and otherwise personalise your experience while interacting with our Services and to otherwise improve the functionality of the Services we provide. We also enable schools to employ cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with their use of our Services in order to allow them to track visitors to and interactions with their school website.
Our Services allows schools to embed code which may potentially contain cookies. Please note embedded content, if displayed on one of our websites, has been added by the school and not by eSchools. The embedded content added by the school may require additional cookies or tracking technologies to be enabled in order to function.
