Our Librarian is Miss Vlismas and she is here to help you find the books and resources you need.

The Library plays a key role in the cultural and social life of the school. It is a central hub for reading, book groups, accessing information, knowledge building and lively discussion.

If you have any questions or would like to request a book for the Library then please come and see Miss Vlismas in person.

The Library is open after school, giving you a quiet place to do homework, access the internet or catch up on some reading. Miss Vlismas is available to help with homework and finding books.

 

Book Bingo

1 new card each term with 25 challenges

Earn a merit for every book you read by completing challenges on each term’s Book Bingo card. Challenges will change each term and can be completed by students, staff and parents reading at any level. Pick up your card from the Library or print your own from the Curriculum Pool (L:\Library\Book Bingo - Reading Challenges)

e.g. Read a book by an author who is not British or American

e.g. Read a book set in winter

e.g. Read a book with “autumnal” colours on the cover (red, orange, yellow, gold, etc.)

We run reading groups to follow several book awards, including the CILIP Carnegie Medal and the Southampton Favourite Book Award.

Throughout the year we arrange visits from different authors. They give talks on their books, creative writing and the process of getting published.
