CONSULTATION ADMISSIONS ARRANGEMENTS SEPTEMBER 2020
As required by regulations the governing body of St Anne’s Catholic School, Southampton, SO15 2WZ will be conducting a consultation on its proposed admissions arrangements for the school year 2020-2021. The consultation period runs for a minimum period of 6 weeks from 20/12/18 until 31/01/2019
Proposed changes are;
*A change of date for the Musical Aptitude Test
(Category 4.) The proposed change is moving the date to before the deadline for applications closes so that parents can know the result of the test before making an application. Once the test has been sat, applications under this category will close. All primary schools in Southampton will be contacted with the date of the test and information is on the school website and shared at Open Events.
Copies of the proposed arrangements can be obtained from the school office or downloaded from the school website www.st-annes.uk.com
Comments on the arrangements should be sent to the clerk to the governing body by 31/01/2019 via Mrs Langford (firstname.lastname@example.org)
The governing body will consider all comments received before determining its admission arrangements by 28 February 2019.
We encourage all parents to ensure that they make an online application via their local authority and put their preferred school as first choice. Additionally, all applicants should fill in a SIF and return it to the school with their evidence by the 31st October. Please do read the SIF carefully and only supply the information requested. We have in the past been sent lovely certificates for wonderful things but these cannot form part of the admission process.
For the past three years, we have been able to offer places to girls in all of the categories on the admissions policy for that year. We have pupils who come from a wide range of primary schools and from different areas of the city and beyond. For pupils who are unsuccessful in obtaining a place, we hold a waiting list and this is regularly reviewed and places are offered as places become available; typically due to pupils moving overseas or out of the area.
