3.        Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a tutor time activity that all Year 7 and 8 students take part in. On average it improves reading age by two years in just one academic year, whilst also encouraging reading for pleasure. It is a powerful tool for monitoring and managing independent reading. Using information generated by the software, teachers can help students select books that are challenging enough to keep them improving, but not so difficult as to cause frustration. In addition, it helps teachers to monitor students’ vocabulary growth, literacy skills development and reading skills.

You and your family can monitor your progress on Renaissance Home Connect. You should already have your login details. If not, please see Miss Vlismas.
